16-Hour Illinois Concealed Carry License Class
Our state-approved 16-hour course covers everything the Illinois State Police require to earn your Concealed Carry License. It runs over two days (Saturday and Sunday) at our Naperville classroom, with live-fire qualification at a nearby indoor range.
What the course covers:
- Firearms safety (minimum 2 classroom hours)
- Basic principles of marksmanship (minimum 3 classroom and range hours)
- Care, cleaning, loading and unloading of a concealable firearm (minimum 3 classroom hours)
- Applicable state and federal law (minimum 4 classroom hours)
- Weapons handling (minimum 4 range hours)
New shooters are welcome. We use training replicas to build confidence, and .22 caliber rental firearms are available on the range. You will receive a 61-page reference booklet with all applicable state and federal laws.
Requirements: 21 or older with a valid photo ID. A FOID card is not required; you can apply for it alongside your CCL. Bring an unloaded firearm in a case if you own one, plus 30 to 50 rounds of ammunition.
Additional fees paid at the range: $25 range fee, plus an optional $25 handgun and ammo rental. Optional Livescan fingerprinting is available in class for $75. The $150 Illinois State Police application fee is paid separately to the state.
